Google brings its latest masterpiece, Imagen 4, a powerful text-to-image model, to both the Gemini API and Google AI Studio. In Gemini, it’s available as a paid preview, while Google AI Studio users can access it for free for a limited time. The new Google Imagen 4 model shows major improvements over Imagen 3, especially in text rendering, marking a significant leap in the quality of AI-generated images.
In an official blog post, Google announced the rollout of two new models: Imagen 4 and Imagen 4 Ultra. The standard Imagen 4 is built for simpler, everyday tasks, while Imagen 4 Ultra is their most advanced image generation model yet, designed to handle complex prompts and produce highly accurate results.
The new text-to-image model is capable of managing a wide range of image generation tasks, with notable upgrades in sharpness and clarity, especially when it comes to text in images—something previous models struggled with. The model is priced at $0.04 per output image, making it suitable for general use.
On the other hand, the Imagen 4 Ultra model is priced at $0.06 per image, offering better performance due to its ability to strictly follow prompt instructions. This makes it ideal for more detailed and specific use cases, outperforming several of its current rivals in precision and control.
